M.J. Zitnansky was born in Czechoslovakia and came to Canada with her husband, Frank, and their son after their homeland was invaded by Russia in 1968. Frank, a general practitioner, had his medical practice in Etobicoke,Ontario. She worked in his office as his secretary until his death in 2007. After her husband’s death, M.J. Zitnansky experienced “signs” of her husband attempt to reach out to her but she could not get any answers. She decided to do her own research with the help of books that deal with afterlife.
Sleepless Nights presents a collection of poetry by M. J. Zitnansky, written during the sleepless nights she endured following the death of her husband. He was a medical doctor who was much loved by his family and his patients. She could not imagine living without her husband, and for a time she thought that she too would die from the pain of his loss.
